Isuzu Motors India have launched the automatic transmission (AT) version of its MU-7 SUV. The automatic variant, along with the new gearbox, also boasts new features and altered interiors. The new variant features a 2 tone (Beige/Black) dashboard and a new 3 spoke steering wheel with mounted audio controls.
Commenting on the introduction of the model, Mr. Naohiro Yamaguchi, Managing Director, Isuzu Motors India, said, “In line with ISUZU’s philosophy to constantly study the market and offer customers a great experience, we now add the new Automatic Transmission variant with more enhanced features on the interior. Many have approached us for an Automatic variant in the MU-7 and with this launch we are sure that a wider range of SUV enthusiasts will prefer the MU-7”.
The two tone dashboard gets a high gloss lacquer finished wood trim along with a new music system (Kenwood 6015 BT) equipped with satellite navigation. The MU-T AT also gets a rear parking sensor and a rear view camera synchronised with the touch screen display. The MU-7 Automatic Transmission variant has been priced at INR 23.90 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Isuzu MU-7 comes equipped with a 4 cylinder, 2999 cc Intercooled VGS Turbo diesel engine with peak power rated at 161 bhp @ 3600 RPM and peak torque of 360 Nm @ 1800 RPM. The SUV comes fitted with independent double wishbone, torsion bar spring and anti-roll bar for the front complemented with rigid gas-sealed shock absorbers in the front and rear.
The MU-7 is brought to India in CKD form and assembled at the Hindustan Motors Ltd facility in Thiruvallur, near Chennai. Upon launch, the new automatic variant is available across all 25 Isuzu dealerships of the country.
