Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. a.k.a Snoop Dogg, launched the beta version of his site “Merry Jane” last Monday. An ardent cannabis devotee himself, the rapper will now share his passion with millions of other marijuana users in the globe. The full site is expected to launch next month but 420 users are being invited everyday to check out its beta version.
Many states in the US have been legalizing the use of marijuana, and more are to follow. The site is being launched in an attempt to promote an open platform where users can discuss doubts, information and personal experiences related to the drug. It will guide users about the rules of using the drug and how best to enjoy their experiences with it.
Snoop Dogg said that weed, despite its great fan following, remains a sore topic of discussion in society. He hopes his site will encourage more people to “come out of their closets” and be frank about their lifestyle. His view is also supported by other celebrity weed enthusiasts like Seth Rogen and Miley Cyrus, who are believed to have feature interviews on the site.
An excited Snoop had announced the site’s launch in a TechCrunch Disrupt event in San Francisco. In his words:
‘Merry Jane is a game-changing platform for pop culture. It’s a new frontier y’all!’
