Australian Cricket Team has cancelled its two-Test Bangladesh tour following the recent death of an Italian aid worker due to an attack by the Islamic State group. British and US embassies have warned their diplomats of possible militant attacks and said “There is reliable new information to suggest that militants may be planning to target Australian interests in Bangladesh”.

Team officials who went to check out the situation were assured of highest security protocol for the Australian team, but decided to delay the visit till unrest cleared. Australia’s qualifier for the FIFA World, scheduled on November 17 in Dhaka, may also get cancelled.
