Indonesian police successfully raided the hubs of suspected militants and uncovered their plan to attack the capital city on new year.
Indonesia has been doing well since the wave of terrorist activity in the previous decade. However, security had been stepped up in the wake of Paris attacks this November. Their vigilance paid off and the police was successful in stopping another major tragedy, halfway in the making.
The police has refused to reveal the details of the plan but have indicated that the attack was targeted towards Shia Muslims, a minority in the country. Chemicals, weapons and Jihadi manuals were found in the raids, which were conducted with intelligence from FBI and the Australian Federal Police.
