As Noor Ali Zadran and Amir Hamza engineered Afghanistan’s victory against Zimbabwe this Sunday, they led their country to the tenth position in international cricket, for the first time since it gained ODI status in 2011.

Afghanistan has definitely stepped up its game this year, which it began by defeating Scotland in its first World Cup appearance in February. It went on to become the first associate to defeat a full member in a bilateral series when it defeated Zimbabwe 3-2 in a five match series in Bulawayo.

Afghanistan must defeat Zimbabwe again in the upcoming series if it hopes to continue its streak and maintain its hold over the tenth rank.
