Recent reports published by BBC and buzzfeed have made Australian Tennis authorities more meticulous regarding investigations of match fixing, especially with the ongoing Australian grand slam.

Players Lukasz Kubot and Andrea Hlavackova were interviewed by the Tennis Integrity Unit after their smashing victory over Spanish pair David Marrero and Lara Arruabarrena.

“It’s not very comfortable to think we didn’t win the match on our terms,” said Hlavackova. “We played our best, we did very well and we won.”

Marrero claimed their defeat to be a result of a recent knee surgery. Nevertheless, authorities felt obliged to investigate when Pinnacle, an online bookmaker suspended betting after suspicious betting patterns were observed on the site.

Neither William Hill, nor Betfair reported any unusual activity on their sites.
